You are never too old or too young to make an impact on your community. This holiday season 11-year-old Nolan Adams and 100-year-old Anthony Pomerleau have made tremendous efforts for children in their communities.
When Nolan was 5 years old he heard a radio advertisement about a children’s hospital. He was curious about how many presents those children get for Christmas and, when his parents told him it was much fewer than he gets, he was moved to do something. He started donating presents to children in the hospital and the number of presents has increased every year. He is 11 now, and this year he donated 176 gifts to children in the hospital.
Anthony Pomerleau has been throwing an annual community Christmas party for 37 years in Burlington, Vermont. This year more than 450 people came, and he paid the entire bill of $13,000! He says he started doing this because “he was brought up the hard way” and wants to help those who are less fortunate. Over the past 37 years, he has been able to feed 40,000 underprivileged children!
