Texas Bomb Squad Creates Easter Egg Hunt for Visually Impaired Children

A Texas bomb squad partnered with Southern Texas Lighthouse for the Blind to bring an Easter egg hunt to children who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to participate in the activity. Dallas Chef Starts Cafe Providing a Fresh Start for Youth After Juvenile Hall

Chad Houser is a popular chef in the Dallas area and taught some kids in juvenile hall how to make ice cream for a competition. After that experience, he decided he wanted to make a bigger impact on their life after they got out. He opened up Cafe Momentum to provide jobs, life skills, and training as well as one big family community for these kids. Watch the incredible story here.

 

Police Officers and Firemen Raise Money for Veterans Through Hockey Game

These first responders in Boston are raising money for wounded veterans through an ice hockey game. They wore jerseys with the names of fallen soldiers on the back of them. Click here to watch the video with more details.

Apple Creating New Emojis to Represent People with Various Disabilities

Apple is in the process of implementing 13 new emojis to better represent people with various disabilities. They have worked with American Council of the Blind, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and the National Association of the Deaf to develop them. The company stated, “This is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all possible depictions of disabilities, but to provide an initial starting point for greater representation for diversity within the emoji universe.”  Read the full article here.
