It’s been six months since Hurricane Maria ravaged Puerto Rico, and still more than 100,000 families and businesses are without power. These teenagers decided they wanted to do something meaningful with their time off school. One teen stated, “People are going through something tragic, and they need help, whether they’re family or not.” Read the whole article to see why these kids decided to give up their break and give to others in need.
A teacher in Florida swam 164 miles to raise awareness about the need to preserve the St. Johns River Basin. All his students were inspired to watch him as he swam 10 miles a day and slept on a boat at night. Watch the video here.
