Double Amputee Runs 31 Marathons in 31 Days for Vets
This 32 year old veteran ran 31 marathons in 31 days to raise money for 3 veteran charities. After losing both his legs in Afghanistan, he wanted to tell his story when he got back here and show support to his fellow veterans. He ended his 31st marathon appropriately on Veterans Day.
Community Helps Revive Local Charitable Bookstore
The “Book Thing” is a local charity in Baltimore that gives away books from their book store. After it burned down, the community came together and donated over 7,000 books to the store to show its gratitude for all that it has provided over the years.
Marching Band Celebrates End of Chemo for Cancer Patient
A nurse decided to volunteer to help Josh Libman through his chemotherapy treatments. She wanted to go above and beyond what she had already contributed by helping him celebrate being cancer free. Restaurant in Philadelphia Gives 100% of Profits to Charity
Rooster Soup Co is a restaurant in Philadelphia that gives 100% of its profits to charity. They donate to one place in particular called Broad Street Ministries, which serves homeless people hot, quality meals and practices what they call “radical hospitality.” Click here for the full story.
