This 32 year old veteran ran 31 marathons in 31 days to raise money for 3 veteran charities. After losing both his legs in Afghanistan, he wanted to tell his story when he got back here and show support to his fellow veterans. He ended his 31st marathon appropriately on Veterans Day.
The “Book Thing” is a local charity in Baltimore that gives away books from their book store. After it burned down, the community came together and donated over 7,000 books to the store to show its gratitude for all that it has provided over the years.
A nurse decided to volunteer to help Josh Libman through his chemotherapy treatments. She wanted to go above and beyond what she had already contributed by helping him celebrate being cancer free. Some cancer patients ring a bell at the end of their treatment, but she thought a marching band from his old high school was more appropriate. Read the inspiring full story here.
Montana police officers got into the holiday spirit by giving out turkeys instead of tickets. Needless to say, the offending parties are overjoyed to be gifted a turkey and let off with a warning.
Rooster Soup Co is a restaurant in Philadelphia that gives 100% of its profits to charity. They donate to one place in particular called Broad Street Ministries, which serves homeless people hot, quality meals and practices what they call “radical hospitality.” Click here for the full story.
