The Shakespeare Center of LA is putting on a performance of “Henry IV”, working with academy award winner Tom Hanks and the West Los Angeles Veterans Association for something special. The whole set is built by veterans and they have done costume making and so much more. Many of the veterans are transitioning back into society and have been homeless and have mental health issues. Felix Finkbeiner has been an environmental activist and global inspiration since he was 9 years old. At 12 years-old he planted 1 million trees and now at 20 years old he has taken over the UN “Billion Tree Program”. “He is enlarging the program, transforming it into a Trillion Tree Campaign: an audacious international grassroots effort to do exactly that – plant one trillion trees in the next 30 years.” There are 3 trillion trees on earth currently so that would be quite the feat. The brand Lush is making shampoo bars to replace plastic shampoo bottles that are adding to global plastic waste. One bar lasts up to 80 washes, which is the equivalent of 3 medium sized shampoo bottles. Watch this video to learn more.
